Vision & Mission

We are called to be a church that makes disciples of Jesus Christ, transforming communities across Melbourne and beyond.

We love God, love people and change lives across the world through our devotion to Jesus Christ and His cause.

Our Vision:

Love God, Love people, Change Lives

Matt 22:37-40

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

Our Mission:

To go and make disciples of Jesus Christ, transforming communities across Melbourne and beyond.

Matt 28:19-20

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Our Values:

Pioneering - We are courageous, faith filled, big thinking, and passionate disciples. We will not shrink back from God and His calling in order to feel comfortable.

Heb 11:8-10

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. 9 And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. 10 Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.

Generous - We will lead with irrational generosity. We live our whole lives knowing it is more blessed to give than receive.

2 Cor 9:6-8

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Family - We are family. Nothing is more fun than serving God with people you love.

Acts 2:42-47

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper[i]), and to prayer.

43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity[j]47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Loving - We display the evidence of our God by loving our neighbours.  Our church loves and serves each other and our community, showing them hope and a reason to believe. We believe in people no matter what their past.

John 13:34-35

So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

Empowered - We intentionally create space for dynamic Holy Spirit encounters. We understand that one moment with the Holy Spirit will change a life forever.

1 Cor 2:4

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power

Authentic - We boldly display real lives that show Jesus Christ is changing us everyday. We value authenticity, integrity and honesty.

2 Tim 1:5

I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.

Unified – We believe together, support each other and carry the same vision and heart for our world.

Psalm 133:1-3

How wonderful and pleasant it is
when brothers live together in harmony!
For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil
that was poured over Aaron’s head,
    that ran down his beard
and onto the border of his robe.
Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon
that falls on the mountains of Zion.
And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing,
    even life everlasting.

Servants – It’s not about the individual.  We find the need and we are willing to meet it.  We don’t care about our status or what’s in it for us, we all serve no matter who we are.

Matt 20:26-28

But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. 28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Followers – We are passionately committed to becoming the most devoted followers of Jesus Christ that we can.  We pursue Him with all our hearts and He will always be our leader and our Lord.

Matt 16:24

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.

Fruitful – We believe God has called us all to bear much fruit, both in our lives and our church.  We will be people who make a difference in our world and see many lives changed for eternity.
